First time I heard anything good said about the design of hte IX. It's really hideous. And it's probably as much of a shitbox as most other BMW's :P Sell it before it runs out of warranty is my tip if you're blind enough to get one :P

Making vehicles safer is great with some exceptions. Automatic braking before the driver does because they're not paying attention is the wrong approach. Sure there's no perfect solution for driver error. Getting in a crash due to negligence though is a much more impactful lesson than almost being in one but the vehicles assisted driving features saving you. If that's somehow still too cruel then how about this. Keep the assisted braking but build tasers into the driving seat or steering wheel. So if the automatic emergency braking does have to engage, it'll still give the lazy driver a good shock so they learn their lesson.

I wish BMW put a little more money into quality of head gasket, oil seals, transmission parts, quality of engine block to avoid cylinder cracking and failure of the above gaskets around 100k miles.

Linus, utter bullshit. this project is just for kicks, and not fit for purpose. Any advances in the real would should be monitored in the real worl. Any handling characteristics, deemable for forensics will only be captured on a moving car. We all know that "moving car" dynamics require a moving car in real world. This toy is of no use in design, function nor point. I wonder how much it costs BMW share holders?

Just an FYI: Formula E cars can corner at around 4-4.5g.. A porsche road car can corner at about 1.2g. Not quite sure where the "1g corning force of a formula e car" came from. Perhaps the acceleration?

this is good ads/sponsor in a "tech channel" honestly bcoz basically when gamers get older and get married, this will gonna be their next hobby. The BMW i3 was launched about the time of the Tesla Model S. Seven years later Tesla offers four different models in a number of variations with up to 100 kWh. BMW? Doubled the battery capacity of their only EV twice, to 39 kWh. I don't see BMW in any leading role. But they are good at selling 'sporty' image cars without having a real supercar. Not even Audi is that dumb.

Main goal of this facility just like the old one is to design engines and drivetrains that use as much low quality plastics as possible, they don't want to attract customers not willing to sell their organs to keep their Bring My Wallet on the road, its worth it because no one makes fun of BMW drivers, they can drive they are courteous and are well liked by all motorists
