Not the same as yours and mine, but still on a budget. My budget at home is about 2500 usd a month. At my work (IT support in the Danish Army) it´s about 6.5 mill. usd a year.... Everything is relative..

Why is Linus using OBS to straight-stream some footage like that? It just senselessly uses GPU at that point. Even when just playing the stream it was using 30% lmao FFMPEG can use nvenc and can stream to RTMP... jesus

would have been cheaper for 5 atem mini pros with some ssd storage and 5 decimators for each court, boom done. static stream key and easy as push to stream and push to record, much easier for the user who ends up with the job. sure its not 4k (streaming) but i highly doubt he would have been streaming in 4k anyway.

You spent a little too much for what you were trying to achieve. There are literally security cameras that are more than half the price, have the same if not better picture and audio and have a way better interface using an FTP server which then you can simply broadcast the live feed to a link.

The NVENC limit is artificial and implemented in the driver (not the card). If you google you'll quickly find a "hack" on Github that removes that limit and your GeForce 1070 can encode as many streams as it can handle (power-wise).

I thought it would be in a stadium since he talked about spectators not being allowed. It doesn't seem like the place fits spectators at all during a tournament. My local stadium fits 6 courts + seats for around 2k people. The advantage of this place for a badminton player is that it's used exclusively for that. The stadium is also used for basketball, handball, gymnastics and so on.

ok, I'm taking Russian software - Trassir, taking Chinese 8mp IP cameras and PC with core i5, 8gb of RAM and no external GPU it will handle it OR I can take same 8mp IP cameras and NVR from the same seller and yes, streams from both configs are accessible worldwide

Super interesting for me! I work at a church and we had to go through all of this in March. Only difference is our Marshalls are hooked into a Roland switcher before we encode (so no high end GPU needed). It's going well now (although the RGB white balance took me by surprise). The SDI connection sure seems finnicky to me for a "pro" solution. If someone merely bumps the cable/camera, it needs constant reconnects.
